Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before requesting a quote or booking a service with Portugal by Fidalgo.

1.Company Information

This website, portugalbyfidalgo.com, is operated by João Luís Fidalgo Unipessoal, Lda., NIF 514 086 556, Rua Professor Simões Raposo, Lisboa. Email: bookings@portugalbyfidalgo.com.

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, "Portugal by Fidalgo", "we", "our" and "us" refer to João Luís Fidalgo Unipessoal, Lda.

2.Services

Portugal by Fidalgo provides private transfers, private tours and chauffeur services throughout Mainland Portugal, subject to availability.

3.Quotations and Bookings

All bookings begin with a quote request submitted through our website or by direct contact. Quotes are provided based on the information supplied by the customer.

A booking is only considered confirmed once the customer accepts the quote and full payment has been received.

Portugal by Fidalgo reserves the right to refuse or cancel requests that contain incorrect, incomplete or misleading information.

4.Payment

All services must be paid in advance. Accepted payment methods will be communicated during the booking process.

Failure to complete payment may result in cancellation of the booking.

5.Cancellations and Refunds

Customers may cancel their booking free of charge up to 5 days (120 hours) before the scheduled service.

For cancellations made between 4 days (96 hours) and 48 hours before the scheduled service, 50% of the total booking amount will be refunded.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled service are non-refundable.

No refunds will be issued in the following circumstances: no-shows; late arrivals resulting in the cancellation of the service; customer refusal to use the booked service after the driver has arrived at the agreed pick-up location.

Any refunds due under this policy will be processed using the original payment method within a reasonable period.

6.Airport Pick-Ups

Airport transfers include up to 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time after the flight's actual landing time. If the customer requires additional waiting time, supplementary charges may apply.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate flight information. Portugal by Fidalgo is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect flight details supplied by the customer.

7.Customer Delays and No-Shows

For all transfers and tours, the driver will wait up to 15 minutes after the agreed pick-up time. If the customer fails to appear within this period, the booking may be considered a no-show and cancelled without refund.

This provision shall not apply where prior arrangements have been agreed or where the customer maintains reasonable communication regarding the delay.

8.Luggage

Customers are responsible for accurately informing Portugal by Fidalgo of the number and size of luggage items at the time of booking.

Portugal by Fidalgo reserves the right to refuse service if the luggage exceeds the capacity of the allocated vehicle or creates safety concerns. No refunds will be due in such circumstances if inaccurate information was provided by the customer.

9.Child Seats

Child seats and booster seats are available upon request, subject to availability, and may incur an additional charge.

Customers must request the appropriate child seat during the booking process to ensure availability and compliance with applicable safety regulations.

10.Pets

Pets are permitted only upon prior request and approval. Certified assistance animals, including guide dogs, are welcome and are exempt from the carrier requirement where permitted by applicable law.

Customers travelling with an assistance animal are kindly requested to inform Portugal by Fidalgo at the time of booking to ensure appropriate arrangements can be made.

Portugal by Fidalgo reserves the right to refuse the transportation of pets that do not comply with safety requirements or where prior notice has not been provided.

11.Changes to Bookings

Requests to modify a booking are subject to availability. Changes may result in adjustments to the quoted price.

Portugal by Fidalgo cannot guarantee availability for last-minute modifications.

12.Liability

Portugal by Fidalgo shall not be liable for delays or service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to traffic conditions, road closures, severe weather, public authorities, accidents or force majeure events.

Our liability shall be limited to the value of the booked service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

13.Complaints

Customers may submit complaints by contacting bookings@portugalbyfidalgo.com.

Customers may also use the Portuguese Electronic Complaints Book where applicable.

14.Privacy

The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using this website and requesting our services, customers acknowledge having read and accepted the Privacy Policy.

15.Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Portuguese law.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights.
